Shock! No global warming since 1995 says Professor Jones

Published 15th February 2010 - 3 comments - 1535 views -

The scientist at centre of the "Climategate" scandal has admitted to the BBC that there has been no global warming since 1995. Professor Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia also confessed that he lacked organizational skills, that his office was swamped with piles of paper and that his record keeping is "not as good as it should be". This is a startling statement as scientists, since the days of Newton, have tended to keep detailed records of their observations.

Professor Jones also admitted that his Climatic Research Unit (CRU) has lost much of the data behind the infamous "hockey-stick" graph, with which Michael Mann and other Climategate activists had falsely attempted to demonstrate that the Medieval Warm Period was not warmer than the present. He conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now — suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.

It now appears that the temperature records of the CRU are a fabrication — just like the four IPCC assessment reports. In simpler English, they are lies. And this just in: "World May Not Be Warming, Say Scientists". And there's even more: "UN global warming data skewed by heat from planes and buildings". Note: The debate is going to get even hotter as Terry Wills is publishing a paper in Climatic Change arguing that the IPCC misread its data, and that the temperature fluctuations it saw are just as likely to be random weather than any systemic trend, whether caused by greenhouse gases or not.

Blogger Ann Althouse notes: "It's the nonskeptics who look bad. It's not science to be a true believer who wants to ignore new evidence. It's not science to support a man who has the job of being a scientist but doesn't adhere to the methods of science."

From the comments: "So, can we have our incandescent light bulbs back now?"

As usual, Eamons post is just disinformation.

Some reality: Daily Mail caught in another lie and Journalism at its most irresponsible.

Mike on 16th February 2010:

Derp, oh noes, a journalist omitted the words statistically significant. No alarmist has ever done that before! Woops!

“The journalist, Jonathan Petre, can claim innocence, except for the peculiar use of the word “blip” showing a mind boggling lack of understanding of statistics for someone reporting on science”

Journalists? Exaggerating? Mind boggling lack of understanding of statistics/science? Who’d have thunk it?

Still waiting for Benno Hansen to debunk the BBC interview…crickets chirping….

By the way, Phil Jones’ lapses are just the beginning.  Read The 2009 Report of the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC) which is written and peer reviewed by world class scientists each with decades of experience in relevant fields.  You will find the report here:

You will find that there are many, many problems with the basic science that supposedly proves the Global Warming hypothesis.
