Pajamas, the Beatles and the COP15

Published 08th December 2009 - 3 comments - 1433 views -

Day 2 of the COP15. Another day of negotiations, another day of youth action, another possibility to bring our message directy to the where it needs be heard: The Bella Centre, directly in front of the plenary. Plus, for me this means: Another opportunity to show you what is happening here, (almost) live from the spot.

But today another event is to be remembered: 29 years ago John Lennon, former Beatles member and leader of a peace-movement, was murdered. It is not surprising that this action is not only meant for our leaders, making decisions that influence all of our lifes in the room right next to us, but also to remember the assassination of a great man. All we are saying is: "give youth a chance!"

Great clip, David! Thanks for your daily reporting from Bella Centre. I hope the pyjama’s and references to beds will make the world leaders aware of the dormant position they’ve been in for way too long. Youngo’s, wake them up!

‘Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one’

Just imagine...
