Ecology + Carwash = Greenwash

"Save water, choose Greenwash"
An ecological car cleaning session costs 145 lei (around 35 euros), it takes about two hours and, when finished, your car is guaranteed to remain dust-proof for a week. No large quantities of water, no abundant foam. Some cloths, a couple of vegetable, 100% biodegradable oil sprays, 1 liter of water and a couple of skilled hands do the trick. Staff training takes two weeks. With all these details set, the first eco carwash in Bucharest opened doors and has been fully operating for a little less than a month.
Greenwash is run by Bruce Johnson along with his son and another partner, two young men aged 19 and 20. "I always wanted to open a car wash, but I have never liked the idea of wasting so much water so I searched for a solution that would provide quality and protect the environment at the same time", said Maximilien Caradja (one of the two owners).

Their sustainable solution was found in France at a company that has been organically cleaning cars for four years. Mircea Carp, the other owner of the Greenwash company, explained what differentiates the products they use in cleaning the vehicles. "All our products are biodegradable and environmentally safe. We have special products for glass, plastic, interiors & exterior, upholstery and wheels. Greenwash is a relatively new concept. It first appeared in France, and our idea has nothing to do with what's normally seen in a carwash.
The Greenwash concept emphasizes every detail of the cleaning process. It is similar to restoration, rather than simple cleaning. Technicians take care of the upholstery, they deal with possible cigarettes holes made in the seats, they fix the cracks in the windows, and they also polish the car ", says Carp.

Maybe for the rest of you, this is not something worthwhile. But in comparison, it takes 1,800 gallons of water to make one pair of jeans. And there are more jeans than cars on this planet. So, if given the choice, where would you wash your car?

Very nice post
Thank you for your comment.
Very nice & not so expensive initiative. I live in Iasi & the price for a full car wash (including thorough vacuuming, cleaning and polishing) is around 150lei. But all car washing services here are the traditional type, so we could use an eco-alternative.

Yeah, there are great number of jeans made throug time. Good to know something really interesting again.
I dont understand why you compare cars with jeans. Totally different items. And I guess there is enough water. It just depends where you live.
