Christiana Figueres in tears
Published 05th December 2010 - 7 comments - 1107 views -
Andrea Arzaba, a fellow blogger of this platform was the first to ask a question to Christiana Figueres, the UN Climate Chief in Cancun Mexico. Asked what is Christiana's inspiration and what moves her, the Climate Chief came down with emotion and tear in her eyes to admit that it's the young people for whom she took up the responsibility. Being a mother and feeling that she is leaving a 'diminished' planet for her daughters is what moves Christiana. Here is the video.
While this is very moving, my expectations from other fellow bloggers who won trips to Cancun are yet to be met. Lara posted a video blog, which is excellent, Andrea is writing regularly but I am missing a few faces and small, moving human stories around the Convention. Looking forward to more posts from Think4 comrades.

Thank you Pabitra.
Does this seem like a normal reaction ?:)) Start a speech with tears? A bit over the top??
If I were Christiana Figueres and I would look into 10 pairs of ambitious eyes and I would reflect in seconds the cop16-negotiations-poker ... I also would weep tears. Especially in this round with young people.
Weird people. *shrug* Maybe it’s just a fragment of what happened, and that’s why she appears drunk or worse, but anyways:)
Having very modest experience of working with young and ambitious people in a system like a juggernaut, constantly under pressure of keeping the hope alive and saying everything is ‘ok’, yet not feeling that confidence inside, I understand that such working conditions can be a killer. It emotionally taxes you greatly. Possibly Christiana was breaking down under that and not so much for a question. She is human after all.
Yes! That is me…and that was a very very moving experience, I will write a post on this moment soon. Thank you Pabitra! (if you have twitter accounts follow me at COP16 here: @andrea_arzaba )
A big hug to all of you!
Cool Andrea, I will follow you on twitter from NOW
