AYCC: The final hours in Cancun

Published 10th December 2010 - 6 comments - 843 views -

It's impossible to get any sense of what's really happening at COP16.

This is a  video udpate from the Australian Youth Climate Coalition team on the final day of the UN climate talks in Cancun.

Thanks for AYCC's great work!

Really great work by AYCC! Thanks Kevin. I share your frustration about Cancun talks. But every time time I look at these young faces full of joy and hope, there is a nagging feeling of guilt that I feel about my generation.

Not to mention mine!

Hear! Hear!

“It’s impossible to get any sense of what’s really happening at COP16.”

Indeed. Sometimes it felt like they deliberately do it that way, so that people get confused and miss the things that really matter in all that storm of propaganda.

Business negotiations, not climate change talks - that’s what it is..

Pabitra on 12th December 2010:

Hi Giedre!
Some people are blaming me as 2010 version of Nostradamus. You may be interested to check my post in the community.

Giedre Steikunaite on 12th December 2010:

@Pabitra, a very good post! And why would they accuse you of being a Nostradamus? Is common sense that scary to some people?

Pabitra on 12th December 2010:

Common sense is very scary to people or organizations that want to make uncommon profit Giedre. It is very scary to people who want uncommon luxury, uncommon ownership and uncommon standard of living. A common sense world where simple pleasures of life, little wonders and small hopes matter most is a ‘threat’ for such people or organizations.
Thankfully I have grown stoic to such ‘ridicule’.
I wish to write about ‘common sense’ someday, but guess it won’t be appropriate here.
