I already talked about the dangers of plastic here and there. Now that the competition soon comes to an end, I thought about a solution to our steady increase in using plastics in our daily lifes. It's something most of us would easily be able to do, if producers and stores would just offer the choice to do it ...

hmmmm… maybe some input for further thinking:


o How much should those liquid dispensers hold?
o How long would it take myself to fill six regular 1 litre bottles?
o How many bottles are sold each day?
o How many different brands and kinds of beverages are in a typical store? (Or your picture/video)
o How many liquid dispenser would you set up?

...

o Where do i get those fancy bag with wheels from? smile

1. i think storemanagers would know that better than me
2. depends on the type of dispenser. couldn’t be too hard to make something like that quick and easy.
3. a lot, i guess wink
4. and 5. a lot as well, i guess - that’s why i suggested to concentrate on the most popular ones at first. but i’m quite sure you could do it with every brand as well - the whole problem could technically be solved in a variety of ways. think e.g. of berverage vending machines. instead of refilling the shelfs, the staff just needs to change barrels.
6. some people could make a lot of money by producing them wink

supermarkets could start by not necessarily substituting plastic bottles completely but by offering dispensers as an alternative.

especially big franchises don’t have to begin in their local megastores, they could do it in smaller shops. handing out some of those “bags with weels” to their customers.

There are actually a few shops here in Italy that sell everything to re-fill, and you bring your own container.

It’s all part of the ideological movement “Decrescita Felice”, you might want to check into it (Google translate might help you out) grin

Btw. it seems Descrescita Felixe means The Happy Decrement and comes from a movement critizising that GDP growth doesn’t necessarily mean to improve living condition (but could also decrease them).
