Spring in Sofia. Birds are flying, people hurry for work, children are playing in the schoolyards, and grannies talk to each other on benches in the central park.

The ideal is so complete, that you can sense the spring in the air.  Literally.

Flies are fighting for their food, which is comfortable placed on the streets, near cars, shops, gardens, homes, hospitals, malls, public facilities, flower-shops and etc. You could have seen what your neighbors have eaten for the last few weeks, what kind of person lives on the last floor in the new building across the street, how hygienic is the bakery around the corner and why newspapers are not in the vogue anymore.

Of course that means that you will attract new neighbours-pals-wanna-be. They are not the often type of friends, you see. In the most of the cases we talk about cockroaches, bacteria, dogs, rats big like monkeys and even new biological units, never seen before!

This bio diversity put Sofia on a new stage. And all of that thanks to our government and particularly the Central municipality. They want to make the Bulgarian capital that clean, that even the British Queen would want to spend her eco-holiday here. That is why the fight continued long enough to develop new aspects in the chemical, biological and physical branches.

Meaning, that the laws of physics have changed after the pair of old socks, combined with the yesterday’s cheeseburger thrown in/near the hyper-overfilled garbage can, started to talk with human voice. If we think more carefully even the gypsy “battalion”, living in the central part of the popular with its nightlife and fly-by-night ladies Student’s town quarter, was cleaner and more ordered then the streets.

On the other hand when there was no space for car parking because of the tons of garbage, you could felt like Indiana Jones in the jungle. Imagine that: You jump over bags with garbage, and then you run straight to the next “Garbage-free-zone” where you can smell clean air, actually the one "refreshed" by the cars gases, which was like a Paris Hilton perfume, compared to the stink of all the other waste. This adventure makes you use more your feet, so you are lucky by getting fitter!

Conclusion: Sofia is the top sport capital of garbage, especially in spring.

Risking his life, the blogger Alexander Krastev, who took part in the Th!nk  About it – European parliament elections, has taken a video with the best moments of his personal garbage training.

Now the new cabinet has the same decision making problems. You can see by yourself what follows one more time. I don`t believe it is right to say that, but at least this time people are psychical prepared for the new garbage autumn/winter season 2009/10. The divided trash cans are neither divided, nor cleaned by the authorized companies.

Maybe Halloween will bring back to life not only the dead this year...
