CRU hacked: The release of the climate change fraud`s truth
A friend of mine sent me an exclusive reportage and article from James Delingpole about the corporative myths around the global warming, brought to light thanks to a hacker. It consists of evidences, which I provide you in a ZIP file here. However, I didn`t go over the WHOLE info package and there needs to be two investigations - one on the provenance of this stuff, and one on the content. One more time internet helps us solve a mystery. Maybe I feel really sceptical now, but what happens? There are too many questions and less actions. Is it just a fraudulent fraud or?
Climategate: the final nail in the coffin of 'Anthropogenic Global Warming'?
If you own any shares in alternative energy companies I should start dumping them NOW. The conspiracy behind the Anthropogenic Global Warming myth (aka AGW; aka ManBearPig) has been suddenly, brutally and quite deliciously exposed after a hacker broke into the computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit (aka CRU) and released 61 megabytes of confidential files onto the internet. (Hat tip: Watts Up With That)
When you read some of those files – including 1079 emails and 72 documents – you realise just why the boffins at CRU might have preferred to keep them confidential. As Andrew Bolt puts it, this scandal could well be “the greatest in modern science”. These alleged emails – supposedly exchanged by some of the most prominent scientists pushing AGW theory – suggest:
Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.
One of the alleged emails has a gentle gloat over the death in 2004 of John L Daly (one of the first climate change sceptics, founder of the Still Waiting For Greenhouse site), commenting:
“In an odd way this is cheering news.”
But perhaps the most damaging revelations – the scientific equivalent of the Telegraph’s MPs’ expenses scandal – are those concerning the way Warmist scientists may variously have manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause.
Here are a few tasters.
Manipulation of evidence:
I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.
Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:
The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.
Suppression of evidence:
Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?
Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.
We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.
Fantasies of violence against prominent Climate Sceptic scientists:
Next
time I see Pat Michaels at a scientific meeting, I’ll be tempted to beat
the crap out of him. Very tempted.
Attempts to disguise the inconvenient truth of the Medieval Warm Period (MWP):
……Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K back–I think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to “contain” the putative “MWP”, even if we don’t yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back….
And, perhaps most reprehensibly, a long series of communications discussing how best to squeeze dissenting scientists out of the peer review process. How, in other words, to create a scientific climate in which anyone who disagrees with AGW can be written off as a crank, whose views do not have a scrap of authority.
“This was the danger of always criticising the skeptics for not publishing in the “peer-reviewed literature”. Obviously, they found a solution to that–take over a journal! So what do we do about this? I think we have to stop considering “Climate Research” as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal. We would also need to consider what we tell or request of our more reasonable colleagues who currently sit on the editorial board…What do others think?”
“I will be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor.”“It results from this journal having a number of editors. The responsible one for this is a well-known skeptic in NZ. He has let a few papers through by Michaels and Gray in the past. I’ve had words with Hans von Storch about this, but got nowhere. Another thing to discuss in Nice !”
Hadley CRU has form in this regard. In September – I wrote the story up here as “How the global warming industry is based on a massive lie” - CRU’s researchers were exposed as having “cherry-picked” data in order to support their untrue claim that global temperatures had risen higher at the end of the 20th century than at any time in the last millenium. CRU was also the organisation which – in contravention of all acceptable behaviour in the international scientific community – spent years withholding data from researchers it deemed unhelpful to its cause. This matters because CRU, established in 1990 by the Met Office, is a government-funded body which is supposed to be a model of rectitude. Its HadCrut record is one of the four official sources of global temperature data used by the IPCC.
I asked in my title whether this will be the final nail in the coffin of Anthropenic Global Warming. This was wishful thinking, of course. In the run up to Copenhagen, we will see more and more hysterical (and grotesquely exaggerated) stories such as this in the Mainstream Media. And we will see ever-more-virulent campaigns conducted by eco-fascist activists, such as this risible new advertising campaign by Plane Stupid showing CGI polar bears falling from the sky and exploding because kind of, like, man, that’s sort of what happens whenever you take another trip on an aeroplane.
The world is currently cooling; electorates are increasingly reluctant to support eco-policies leading to more oppressive regulation, higher taxes and higher utility bills; the tide is turning against Al Gore’s Anthropogenic Global Warming theory. The so-called “sceptical” view – which is some of us have been expressing for quite some time: see, for example, the chapter entitled ‘Barbecue the Polar Bears’ in WELCOME TO OBAMALAND: I’VE SEEN YOUR FUTURE AND IT DOESN’T WORK – is now also, thank heaven, the majority view.
Unfortunately, we’ve a long, long way to go before the public mood (and scientific truth) is reflected by our policy makers. There are too many vested interests in AGW, with far too much to lose either in terms of reputation or money, for this to end without a bitter fight.
But to judge by the way – despite the best efforts of the MSM not to report on it – the CRU scandal is spreading like wildfire across the internet, this shabby story represents a blow to the AGW lobby’s credibility from which it is never likely to recover.
IF that does not convince you on something different than CO2 emissions going on, read this open letter, posted in copenhagenclimatechallenge.org:
Open Letter to UN Secretary-General
His Excellency Ban Ki Moon
Secretary-General, United Nations
New York, NY
United States of America
December 8, 2009
Dear Secretary-General,
Climate change science is in a period of ‘negative discovery’ - the more we learn about this exceptionally complex and rapidly evolving field the more we realize how little we know. Truly, the science is NOT settled.
Therefore, there is no sound reason to impose expensive and restrictive public policy decisions on the peoples of the Earth without first providing convincing evidence that human activities are causing dangerous climate change beyond that resulting from natural causes. Before any precipitate action is taken, we must have solid observational data demonstrating that recent changes in climate differ substantially from changes observed in the past and are well in excess of normal variations caused by solar cycles, ocean currents, changes in the Earth's orbital parameters and other natural phenomena. // I do agree here.
We the undersigned, being qualified in climate-related scientific disciplines, challenge the UNFCCC and supporters of the United Nations Climate Change Conference to produce convincing OBSERVATIONAL EVIDENCE for their claims of dangerous human-caused global warming and other changes in climate. // I would like to see that and not only arguments from China to the USA
Projections of possible future scenarios from unproven computer models of climate are not acceptable substitutes for real world data obtained through unbiased and rigorous scientific investigation.
Specifically, we challenge supporters of the hypothesis of dangerous human-caused climate change to demonstrate that:
- Variations in global climate in the last hundred years are significantly outside the natural range experienced in previous centuries;
- Humanity’s emissions of carbon dioxide and other ‘greenhouse gases’ (GHG) are having a dangerous impact on global climate;
- Computer-based models can meaningfully replicate the impact of all of the natural factors that may significantly influence climate;
- Sea levels are rising dangerously at a rate that has accelerated with increasing human GHG emissions, thereby threatening small islands and coastal communities;
- The incidence of malaria is increasing due to recent climate changes;
- Human society and natural ecosystems cannot adapt to foreseeable climate change as they have done in the past;
- Worldwide glacier retreat, and sea ice melting in Polar Regions , is unusual and related to increases in human GHG emissions;
- Polar bears and other Arctic and Antarctic wildlife are unable to adapt to anticipated local climate change effects, independent of the causes of those changes;
- Hurricanes, other tropical cyclones and associated extreme weather events are increasing in severity and frequency;
- Data recorded by ground-based stations are a reliable indicator of surface temperature trends.
It is not the responsibility of ‘climate realist’ scientists to prove that dangerous human-caused climate change is not happening. Rather, it is those who propose that it is, and promote the allocation of massive investments to solve the supposed ‘problem’, who have the obligation to convincingly demonstrate that recent climate change is not of mostly natural origin and, if we do nothing, catastrophic change will ensue. To date, this they have utterly failed to do.

Well at least you are now blogging about climate change, not whales. The alleged “climategate” is a scam. I put together a little info in [url=”
Fun]http://climatechange.thinkaboutit.eu/think2/post/fun_with_climategate”]Fun with Climategate[/url].
do you mean that killing species is not part of the climate change? do u think that seriously benno? actually I blog a lot about marine life, because i`m very interested in it. And I do care about real visible issues like killing animals for fun, carelessness, money and so on. Whales or human beings, is that your question or what.
Well I guess it tells us something about the callousness of our species, our disregard for the rest of the planet. Making sure species do not go extinct is part of our mitigation obligations. But other than that you have to admit it’s a rather marginally related topic. And regarding your previous post about the Faroe Islands - why do you not defend the traditional hunt? Why is this a bad thing just because there is visible blood in the water? Why is it more evil than factory farms where animals spend their lives in torture only to be brutally slaughtered while the Faroe whales live a free, natural life? It doesn’t make sense and it’s unrelated to climate change. Except perhaps by this cartoon
If you want you have there a French testimony but a part in English.

Now, I think that true skepticism is side of those which believe that new energies are not able to replace oil.
That is false.
After the wind mills of 15 MW which multiply by 4 the density in energy on Earth we let us have a discovery which makes pass the conversion of the solar energy of 16 - 18% to 60 - 80%!
This time we very largely have enough energy to stop consuming oil.
For storage I have written a post on this side.
Do not forget than Danmark will build an atoll on the sea with hydraulic storage.

LOL.
Gotta love Benno’s comments.
Would you ground your “theory” about me defending the traditional hunt??? Do you have such traditions at your family? At mine, we don`t. IF you call that tradition, I would like to see your photo album with animals` graves.
And on your question - “Why is this a bad thing just because there is visible blood in the water?” Why do you mind to see sick of polluted water children with mutated genes? Do you see it “visible” enough or you need more? I think you look too many horror movies and that is why you have problem with the “traditional” perceptions.
The next time - go through the text and my answer about the animal farms is quite clear, unless you don`t need a special explanation. If that is marginal and unrelated to the climate change, I hope that you will read like a real professional more than one book, showing more than one OPINION. And as we all know, WWF and PETA do not cover problems of bloggers insanity. I do not name myself eco pro, but I can judge what is connected with the climate change and what is not. So, let me count now.
Copenhagen has reached the tipping point. Bwahahahaha.
And you thought you were going to get climate justice. What will you do now? Time’s up and the planet is doomed after all. Maybe you can finally leave us alone now and go hide in a corner from the coming apocalypse.
See you at COP16? Hahahahaha.
Be careful with quick conclusions, Mike… This walkout might be a tipping point. But not the one you were hoping for

Oops, doesn’t seem to be a genuine document. anyway…we’ll see what is going to happen. And yes, rather no deal that a crappy one. i think thee you agree Mike?
There is on point in which we are all in harmony: in ten years we will see what happens!
The ones having driven with new energies will be easy!
Mike, see you in Mexico
