Birthday Resolutions
Today I turned twenty-two. As a personal goal to decrease my ecological footprint, I've made a set of resolutions that I will follow through the next year.
1. Replace all plastic bags with cloth ones. I'll carry anything I buy in cloth or paper bags, I will avoid plastic bags.
2. Reduce consumption. I'll decrease my unneccesary consumption of products and services. Switch of electrical appliances when not in use and keep windows open for natural air circulation.
3. Recycle. I'll ensure all electrical waste and plastic waste I throw away is through proper disposal to ensure recycling.
4. Replenish. I'll plant the same number of trees that have been cut down for the paper that I use.
5. Educate other people around me.
All this will probably make no difference in the big picture. But I have to become a personal example for others to emulate. And that is how any revolution starts.

Hey… That’s really inspiring. My birthday is coming up… I usually just try to forget that it’s anything special, but now your example really makes me think.
Also note, there’s a misspelling in through - it should be “anything I throw away”.

hey… nice post… it took me on a guilt trip as i didn’t take any birthday resolutions :( But you don’t need a birthday to take resolutions and so I’ve decided to follow these points today onwards…
