An Idea To Serbian Architects, Builders And Ordinary Citizens

My previous post was interested in the possible effects of reducing of electricity production in power plants “Nikola Tesla” in Obrenovac.

Surfing the internet, I came upon an interesting article and wanted to share it with you and forward it as an good idea to Serbian architects, builders and many others how they could efficiently use products of coal conbustion in the power plants “Nikola Tesla” . (Of course, this idea could be useful to people around the world.)

No doubt, the power plants “Nikola Tesla” could be a source, not only of electricity, but as raw materials in building industry.

Here is the article:

Eco-friendly brick made from coal-power plant byproducts

With the buzzword ‘eco-friendly’ exploding across the world, many new houses are coming up facilitating itself with renewable or alternative energy resources. But, very few have thought of going green at the ‘elementary level’.

One of such thought is reflected in Henry Liu’s innovation. He has developed a new building block or brick form byproducts of coal-power plants! Ah! That sounds environment-friendly, as environmentalists across the world are up with arms to curb the environmental nuisance the carbon byproducts cause.

Cuing up this line of concern for pollutants, the bricks are made by pressurizing coal-power plants’ byproducts.

While on one hand, making cement for concrete bricks spew thousands of pounds of poisonous mercury into the air annually, Liu’s eco-friendly brick, on the other hand, uses coal-power plants’ waste product - fly ash - which otherwise would fester in a landfill.

This new eco-friendly innovative brick solidifies under pressure - and not extreme heat. Thus, manufacturing them saves energy and reduces costs by at least 20 percent.

And, with the bricks being molded, they’re smoother and more uniform, thus also reduces bricklaying time as well as labor. So, if you are planning a ‘green’ house for yourself, use this brick to be an environmentalist at the roots of your conscience.

Not bad. What about the costs?

You show here that ecology is full with contradictions.
    We must laugh at it.
We must remain flexible in front of reality!
