A look at various activism web tools for #cop15
Last Saturday, we all followed the 350.org manifestations all over the world. No need to insist on it again, this was just fantastic to see people acting everywhere on the planet! If you ever missed that, just have a look at the 350.org twitter or website.
Now, let's have a look to other interesting activism actions that took place this week, mainly on the web.
First, something pretty funny and very "pedagogical", imagined by European Greens: the Climate Circus website. There, you can see Obama wearing a gymnast boxer shorts, Nicolas Sarkozy looking like a magician, Angela Merkel as a unstable cyclist. All of them plays under a nice red big top, and you can hear the public laughting. With this initiative, European Greens use a schoolboy pranks way of doing. This is simple but really efficient, it caricatures quite well the way rich countries consider climate policies: none of the 13 countries receive a very good mark in fact...

Second, the Action Pact of Greenpeace. In its campaign, Greenpeace mentions that it "urgently need your help in the lead up to the UN Climate Summit in Copenhagen this December. We're trying to get as many people as we can to send a virtual package to the conference. Each package contains our demands and, if you have time, a brilliant slogan -- to be delivered by a quirky cardboard cartoon character with YOUR face on it. The best slogan will appear on a Greenpeace banner and the characters will be part of a virtual video march. The more we have the better (...) we want to make sure they not only agree on a deal, but make a firm pact for change that packages together 3 clear actions:
- Big cuts in emissions from rich countries
- A fund to save our forests
- Funds to help developing countries deal with climate change
Let's make sure our political leaders know we want them thinking about the next generation, not just the next election."
So go and get your action pact!

Third, TwitterStorms. This is new, we could doubt the impact becasue it is limited to twitter users, but that's pretty interesting to see the way the information circulate ans how it actually worked already. A TwitterStorm in "an unmissable volley of synchronised messages that build in momentum until the Government simply can’t ignore it. Think of the voice it gave to Iranians during their elections. Now consider the impact we can have closer to home" as explains the Be That Change website.
The BeThatChange initiative launched its first Twitterstorm, #pm2un, on the 16th of September, to get Gordon Brown to Copenhagen: it achieved considerable success, building on the work of many people and organisations (The UK Youth Climate Coalition, Guardian ECO, Stop Climate Chaos, Greenpeace, 1010, Oxfam, etc) and creating a tipping point that led to the commitment of the UK Prime Minister to attend the negociations: 5 days after the launch of the negociations, he made a commitment to attend the summit. Downing Street even used the #pm2un hashtag when making the announcement on twitter.

The second Twitterstorm took place on the 28th of October to get #Hope2Cope, which means a way to help get President Obama to the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen.

Unfortunately, this action did not reach its aim - enter the trending topics on Twitter. But as @bethatchange mentioned on the 29th of October: "if you're feeling down because #hope2cope didn't hit trends yesterday, don't be. Be proud. Because the second storm was just the start..." So, let's wait for the second twitterstorm, may be you'll be part of it next time and help them enter the trending topics! To follow the twitterstorm online, you can either go on Be That Change website or Hope2Cope.co.uk. Obama, in December, has to go to Oslo in order to get its Nobel Price. Difficult for him, in such conditions and on his way back, not to stop by Copengahen and take action...?
Fourth, the Canadians for Action on Climate Change also need help to remind Canada's leader, Stephen Harper who he is representing in Copenhagen. They thus have released a very nice video of Moms against Climate Change, an initiative by 2 main NGOs in Canada, Forest Ethics and Environmental Defence.
The message is very simple: "if our children knew that our world's leaders were not taking the action they need to take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, they would rise up. After all it is their future."

Last, but not least, I just have to say that You All have to show off and take action, on line or in the streets. Climat skeptics of global warming are numerous, and many fo not want to see what is happening nowadays. So DO act, use the tcktcktck campaign Twibbon and you are ready to support the voice of the people believing we have to change NOW!

I am not sure it is the good way.
I think to be against what happen is not so constructive.
I want to find a positive way with enthusiasm.
“My way” goes with new energies.
