The issues will be addressed further in the future at another climate conference. In fact, the personal computer and the subsequent economic growth that it brought to my homeland in the early 90's seem to be the primary reason for the US's inability to fulfill its Kyoto target. I definitely got in touch with the more radical environmentalist "hippy" side of the climate issue today. It just goes to show you: greenwashing is everywhere; not just in the companies trying to tell you that bottled water is good for the environment. Alternative Energies 2009-10-17T19:18:00+00:00 Christopher Mackey - The Longest Pedestrian/Cyclist Bridge in the World is Now Open! http://climatechange.thinkaboutit.eu/think2/post/the_longest_pedestrian_cyclist_bridge_in_the_world_is_now_open/ http://climatechange.thinkaboutit.eu/think2/post/the_longest_pedestrian_cyclist_bridge_in_the_world_is_now_open/#When:20:05:44Z ... and it's a colossal 1.25 mi (over 2 km) long! I had the pleasure of seeing the bridge on the day of its opening and taking part in the festivities (which you can see in the video). The bridge is in Poughkeepsie, New York and spans over the entire Hudson River. To me, it is a wonderful symbol of how old industrial infrastructure (the bridge was originally for a rail line) is being used to encourage more sustainable travel.
